DOG TRAINING CLASSES
Pets Lifeline offers dog training classes for our community. We want to help keep pets happy in their homes by educating people about humane and responsible treatment and training of their companion pets, plus have a little fun.

We offer Family Dog 1, Family Dog 1 w/Clicker, Family Dog 2,
Canine Good Citizen and Puppy Classes.

NOTE: Classes are subject to cancellation if enrollment is low.

Current vaccination records are required. Please see below for specific requirements of each class.
Please do not bring your dog to training if your dog has any of the following symptoms:
Sneezing, Coughing, Vomiting, or Diarhhea
All classes are held at Pets Lifeline, 19686 8th Street East, Sonoma.

Family Dog 1 w/Clicker
For dogs 4 months and older
$175.00 (6-week course)
A beginning level class that covers all the fundamentals i.e. Sit, Stay, Down, Come (recall), polite leash walking, and basic good manners.

"Clicker Training" or "Marker Training" is a type of positive reinforcement training that uses a clicker to "mark" desired dog behavior the precise moment the desired behavior happens followed by a treat. Ultimately, it lets dogs know and understand what they did to earn a treat, making them willing and able to continue the behavior.
​
Please Note: This is NOT a dog socialization class.
​
We require the following vaccinations prior to the first class:

Under 1 year: 1 dose of Rabies, 3 doses of DA2PP and Bordetella booster within the last 6 months (Bordetella vaccine is only good for 6 months)

1-2 years: 1 dose of DA2PP, 1 dose of Rabies and Bordetella booster within the last 6 months. (Bordetella vaccine is only good for 6 months)

After 2 years: 3 year DA2PP, 3 year Rabies, Bordetella booster within the last 6 months (Bordetella vaccine is only good for 6 months)
The record must be an itemized invoice/record from the veterinarian with the name and date of the vaccinations.

We can not accept Reminder Reports from the veterinarian.

Family Dog 2 (Intermediate)
For graduates of Family Dog 1 $175.00 (6-week course)
Students in this class will hone the skills learned in Family Dog I through a variety of exercises that solidify your dog's good manners in the home and out in the community.
​

Puppy Class
For dog 12-17 weeks
$175.00 (6-week course)
In this class, puppies will begin socializing with people and with other puppies, as well as begin learning good manners: all things necessary for a well-adjusted family dog. Each class will include play time as well as question and answer time with the instructor.

We require the following vaccinations prior to the first class:

Must have 2 doses of DA2PP and Bordetella
-
Puppies must not have any of the following symptoms: sneezing, coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea

Family Dog 1 w/Clicker
For dogs 4 months and older
$175.00 (6-week series)
Clicker training is the same positive reinforcement training as Family Dog 1, with the benefit of a using clicker. A clicker is a small handheld device making an audible clicking sound when the button is pressed. The clicking sound replaces using a “marker word” to tell your pup he’s done something right, like “good” or “yes.”
Please Note: This is NOT a dog socialization class.

Puppy Class (2 Weeks)
For puppies, 11-17 weeks old on the first day of class
$60 for 2-Week Series
In this class, puppies will begin socializing with people and with other puppies, as well as begin learning good manners: all things necessary for a well-adjusted family dog. Each class will include play time as well as question and answer time with the instructor.
We require the following vaccinations:

By enrolling in Pets Lifeline's Dog Training program, you agree to be included in photographs taken during the classes. Unless permission is refused in writing, it is understood that Pets Lifeline may photograph, video, or make an audio recording of you as a participant for the purposes of documentation and promotion.
