After School Program
Our After School programs are designed to provide a safe and enriching environment for children to interact with animals while learning important lessons about compassion, empathy, and pet care. Through hands-on activities, educational workshops, and supervised playtime with shelter animals, participants gain a deeper understanding of animal behavior, basic training techniques, and the importance of compassion for all living things.
LITTLE HANDS, BIG SOUNDS
A creative workshop

In this fun and hands-on 4-part workshop, kids will dive into the magical world of puppetry—with an animal twist! Each child will:
-
Design and create their own animal puppet
-
Dream up their puppet’s unique personality
-
Write a song for their puppet with musician Joshua Kraft
-
Practice performing on a real puppet stage as a team

Through storytelling, music, and play, kids will bring their puppets to life and build confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills. No experience needed—and all materials are provided!

A guest workshop is included with Lee Armstrong of Sonoma, co-owner of the TV puppet company Images in Motion (www.imagesmedia.com). Lee’s puppetry work includes the original Henson’s Fraggle Rock, PBS shows, and hundreds of workshops in schools and libraries across the country.
