Humane Education

Humane education teaches people of all ages to accept and fulfill their responsibility to companion animals. It teaches to understand the consequences of irresponsible behavior and finally, humane education encourages the value of all living things.

Foster Animal Program

We rely on a dedicated group of foster volunteers to help us in our mission of saving animals’ lives. While we provide the training, supplies, veterinary care and support, our volunteers provide the open hearts and homes. Together we save the lives of many young animals by preparing them for adoption and opening space in the shelter.

Dog Training Classes

Pets Lifeline is a leader in the education of dogs and their owners. Whether your goal is to have a great family dog or a highly-trained therapy dog to work in the community or in your therapy practice, we will provide you and your dog with the tools to achieve your training goals.

Feral Cat Program

Pets Lifeline works to humanely control the feral cat population in the Sonoma Valley. The goal is to trap, alter, and release these cats before they breed. This results in the reduction in the numbers of homeless kittens that come into PLL's shelter throughout the year.

Read to the Animals

Enjoy reading aloud to a homeless dog, cat, or small animal at our shelter.  You’ll be giving much needed companionship to a lonely animal… and getting in some time for that book you’ve been meaning to read.

Community Education

We conduct ongoing community education services to raise public awareness about responsible pet ownership. We hold workshops in local schools and for community service organizations and offer tours of the Shelter for interested groups.
