Feral Cat Spay/Neuter (TNR)
TNR, or Trap, Neuter, Return, is a humane way to reduce the feral cat population in Sonoma Valley. Cats are safely trapped, spayed or neutered, and returned to their colony, preventing future litters and improving overall health.

What are Feral Cats?
Feral cats can have many names: community cats, tomcats, and free-roaming cats are just a few of the most common. These cats do not have an owner in the traditional sense that the cat is considered a pet and usually are not socialized to humans. All of them have one thing in common: they intermingle with other cats (both feral and outdoor pet cats) and breed.

Feral Cats?
We desperately need to reduce the number of homeless kittens coming into Pets Lifeline's shelter each year. An uncontrolled feral cat population is both unhealthy and inhumane — disease and parasites can cause serious illness or death, especially in kittens, if allowed to spread unchecked. Altered cats are also less likely to fight, keeping both the colony and neighboring outdoor pets safer.
Through our partnership with Sonoma Cat and Animal Rescue, we're able to support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services to help manage feral cat colonies throughout Sonoma Valley.
