When an animal loses everything, there's one place they can turn.
For more than four decades, Pets Lifeline has helped Sonoma Valley's dogs and cats find safety, healing, and loving homes.
Every animal that comes through our doors has a unique story.
No matter how they arrive, they receive the care they need while they wait for their next chapter to begin.

Safe shelter for animals who have lost their homes
Foster placement and behavior support for animals who need extra time
Medical care for sick, injured, and neglected pets
Daily enrichment, socialization, and compassionate care that helps animals heal
The lives that change aren't only theirs
The impact of this work extends far beyond the shelter.
Animals find loving homes. Families find companionship, connection, and joy. Every adoption creates a new beginning for both the animal and the people welcoming them home.
That's why this work matters to our entire community.

Ophelia
When Ophelia's person died suddenly, she was left without the home and family she had always known. She spent time in foster care, came close to adoption more than once, and waited patiently for the right match.
Today, Ophelia is running on open land with a family who loves her and a little girl who found her new best friend.

Gerty
When Gerty arrived, she was withdrawn, hiding under a blanket, and struggling with her health. With patience, daily care, and support from staff and volunteers, she slowly gained confidence and became healthier.
Eventually, she found exactly what she needed: a quiet home and a calm companion who understood her.
