Help Mrs. Bean & Join the Kitten Brigade

Mrs. Bean arrived at Pets Lifeline on May 2nd, a very pregnant cat. She was found on a rural property and the concerned property owners brought her immediately to our shelter where they knew she would get the help she needed. During her intake exam, we learned that Mrs. Bean was positive for FIV - feline immunodeficiency virus. The very next day, Mrs. Bean gave birth to a litter of seven kittens: the Bean babies!

It will be another few months before the kittens are old enough to be tested for FIV therefore they will remain at Pets Lifeline until we know their health status. While FIV is a serious condition, cats with the disease can still live a good life. Due to the FIV diagnosis, the cost of providing care to Mrs. Bean and the Bean Babies is estimated at $3,000 - $5,000. With kitten season now upon us, and with the number of kittens we anticipate serving this year topping 400, Pets Lifeline needs your help now more than ever before!

Your tax-deductable gift will ensure that Mrs. Bean and all of the kittens that depend on us will get the care they need. Here's how you can make a difference right now:

Join the Kitten Brigade by making an automatic monthly contribution of $15 or more, or any amount you can afford. your continued support will provide us with the resources we need to care for our kittens as they arrive at the shelter, this year and every year.

Make a one-time gift of $50 and provide shelter and food for one cat for 2 weeks.

Contribute $125 to cover the costs of medical evaluation, vaccinations, and basic wellness care for one cat.

Donate $250 and underwrite the cost of one spay/neuter surgery.

Last year kitten care cost Pets Lifeline more than $90,000. We expect costs to exceed $100,000 this year with a 10% increase in kittens anticipated. Pets Lifeline receives no funding from the city or county of Sonoma. We depend on the generosity of friends like you to cover the costs of care.

It's too soon to know what Mrs. Bean's prognosis will be or whether her kittens will be FIV positive, but regardless, Pets Lifeline will be there to ensure they get their second chance.

We couldn't do it without your support. Thank you for giving generously.
