The 2004 Feral Cat Community
Assistance Program is made possible by a grant from the
Mental Insight Foundation
Pets Lifeline and Pet
Population Control Fund have joined forces in a continued
effort to humanely control the feral cat population in the
Sonoma Valley. The goal is to trap, alter, and release these
cats BEFORE they breed. We desperately need to reduce the
numbers of homeless kittens that come into PLL's shelter each
spring or put demands on PPCF's spay/neuter voucher program.
Once fixed, these feral cats are able to live out their lives
under the supervision of a colony caretaker.
To report feral cats or to volunteer
as a trapper or colony caretaker call 996-4577 and choose
the option for Feral Cat Community Assistance Program when
prompted.
Our Feral Cat Colony
Report (in pdf format, requires Acrobat
Reader), is available for download. Please print, fill
out this form and return it to us so we can assess your situation
and decide how we can best work with you.
Pets Lifeline is a non-profit organization dedicated to
the animals of the Sonoma Valley, including the feral cat
population. We are using the TTVAR/M (Trap, Test, Vaccinate,
Alter, Release and Maintain) method of feral cat control.
Each cat is taken to a participating veterinarian, tested
for feline leukemia, vaccinated for rabies and distemper,
neutered and ear-tipped for identification purposes. We do
test all cats for leukemia and it is our policy to euthanize
all cats that test positive.
Pets Lifeline, through a generous donation, is covering all
veterinary costs of this program. Donations are always appreciated
and will allow the program to continue in the future. Our
services are limited to the spay/neuters of the feral cats
in the colony and any initial medical needs of the felines.
We cannot cover any long term or futre medical needs of the
felines. We have many cats that need help.
Thank you for caring from PETS LIFELINE and PET POPULATION
CONTROL FUND!
